  8. Part of the data in this file was provided by Alric of Hawkwood from
  9. an article in the Spokane Spokesman-Review, which listed a table
  10. (kindly provided by the local Drug Enforcement Agency office), on the
  11. chemicals used in the manufacture of Methamphetamine.
  12.         This information in this file is provided only for research
  13. purposes, as the manufacturing, possessing, or even planning to
  14. manufacture Methamphetamine is a FELONY, not to mention a dangerous
  15. process that should not be attempted in ones' kitchen, or without some
  16. practical knowledge of chemicals and lab safety. Many of these
  17. chemicals are very flammable, explosive, and/or very toxic.
  18.         Most of these chemicals are on the DEA's 'Watch List', persons
  19. ordering (or even asking about) certain of these chemicals maybe
  20. reported to local or federal law enforcement agencies. Possession of
  21. some of the precursors without a valid reason maybe enough evidence
  22. to charge a person with intent to manufacture and distribute.

  29. Acetaldehyde - Hazardous, very flammable
  30. Benzyl chloride - Hazardous, somewhat flammable
  31. Ephedrine
  32. Methylamine - Very hazardous, extremely flammable
  33. N-Methlformamide
  34. Monomethylamine - Very hazardous, extremely flammable
  35. Phenyl-2-propanone
  36. Propiophenone

  38. SOLVENTS - (used to dissolve, dilute, separate, or purify other chemicals):

  40. Acetic acid - hazardous, flammable
  41. Acetone - Somewhat hazardous, very flammable
  42. Chloroform - Hazardous
  43. Ethanol - Flammable
  44. Ether - Hazardous, very flammable
  45. Isopropanol - Somewhat flammable
  46. 2-Propanol - Somewhat flammable

  48. Reagents (react with precursors):

  51. Calcium hydroxide
  52. Copper sulfate
  53. Formic Acid - Very hazardous, somewhat flammable
  54. Hydrochloric Acid - Very hazardous
  55. Hydrogen (gas) - Extremely volatile
  56. Hydrogen chloride - Easily fatal (can penetrate normal protective clothing)
  57. Iodine
  58. Magnesium turnings - Somewhat flammable, may react violently with water
  59. Magnesium Sulfate anhydrous
  60. Mercuric Chloride - Easily fatal (can penetrate normal protective clothing)
  61. Palladium on Barium Sulfate
  62. Perchloric Acid - Very hazardous
  63. Phosphorus pentachloride - Very hazardous, may react violently with water
  64. Platinum
  65. Platinum oxide
  66. Sodium (metal) - Very hazardous, somewhat flammable, reacts violently on
  67. contact with moisture
  68. Sodium Acetate anhydrous
  69. Sodium Cyanotrihydridoborate - Very hazardous, flammable, may react violently
  70. with water
  71. Sodium Hydroxide - Very hazardous
  72. Sulfuric Acid - Very hazardous, may react violently with water
  73. Thionyl chloride - Very hazardous, may react violent with water
